Welcome to the Lawrenz Photography Photographic Collection.
We have travelled across most of the Australian continent, taking photos of every animal, plant, landscape, etc that has crossed our path. And in so doing we have endured many hardships and experienced a bounty of adventures. In this work we hope to share the things we have seen through our camera and the experiences we went through to obtain those photos. The main purpose in doing this work was to show our family, our children and friends the extreme and sometimes crazy things we do to get a photo. We hope you all enjoy our tales as we definitely enjoyed making them.
In 1994 we bought our first film SLR camera, a Nikon F90X. Without any formal training in photography we dove straight in and took photos of whatever we found interesting enough in our backyard and surrounding parks. We had many terrible photos, but every now and then we took a winner. In 2003 we bought our first Digital SLR, a Nikon D100. Like many other photographers, this changed the way we took photos. We could check there and then if our photo was in focus or not. Our skills increased with this new technology. Since then we have upgraded to the Nikon D200 and D300s. We find we get more winning photos with these new cameras than previous.
Besides a collection of lenses we also like to try out new techniques with our photography. Here is a list of some of the things we have used thus far:
Rolf works as a Software Developer in Salt Lake City, Utah. He is married and has 4 kids which he often drags around on his photographic trips. Photography is one of his many hobbies along with Snorkelling, Basketball, Beach volleyball, Computers, Camping, Hiking and playing with his kids.
Eric works as a Chemist in Sydney. He is recently married. Along with Photography he enjoys Mountain Bike riding, Basketball, Camping, Hiking.
We hope you enjoy seeing the wonderful places and things we have discovered through the photos we have provided.
Keep visiting! To date we have only added a fraction of our photos. In time we intend to add them all. Plus there are always more adventures to be had and more stories to be told through the wonderful art of photography.
